is this a dream?

How bout you listen to this:

It's been swowing like hell. Well, at least that's what I used to think. Now it's actually more like little white pixies in flared white Gaga-dresses, sparkly shoes and mountains of white hair falling from the elegant grey the sky has dressed itself in.

The world has come to a halt.

Moments like these make me come to a halt, too. Think about the truly important things. Let me widen my perspective. Encourage me to take a different route.
While strolling through the snowy streets yesterday, I decided to take a different route. And I was rewarded. I found the most precious little shop, full of vintage furniture, clothing, scarves, gloves, purses, candles and pillows lingering everywhere.

It was warm and cosy, full of mirrors, satin, velvet and sparkly lights. I must have spent at least 30 minutes in there and loved every second of it. It always makes a difference whether shopowners or assistants talk to you because they want to sell their stuff or because they are truly interested.

Later on I walked past a tiny Indian shop. I went in to talk to the owner, who is the most lovely person. He was a bit shy at first, but warmed up after a while and we had a great talk. He said he has to be careful, because people have tricked him into buying things etc. before.
It makes me quite sad that this is the way you tend to (have to) behave nowadays.
We could have so many wonderful encounters if it weren't for the tiny percentage of humans ruining it for the rest of us.

Some fabulous winter-ish pieces that keep me warm and comfy:

Yorn overknee socks with angora - so warm!

Worn before with McQueen skirt, Yorn cashmere jumper, Mango belt, Marciano heels:

Snood with buttons! by Best Behavior from that sweet shop I went to yesterday

Enjoy the rest of the song!

Hope you have a lovely day munchkins!

On my mind...

Black skirt, black tights, summer platforms?
Will give it a go! I shall inform you how it turned out!

I am madly in love with some of Ungaro's Spring 2011 RTW pieces.
Take a look!

(all from style.com)

I am just slightly...intimidated by the models' looks. It's all so ....burtonesque, don't you think so? Edgy, sort of, but it still reminds me of Corpse Bride. Not all of them of course...have you spotted HER? :-)

animals in town

Everyone has probably seen Lanvin's stuff for H and M (if not: check out my friend's blog over at Black Banana (how do hyperlinks work on this darn Blackberry?) for the video.
Personally, I don't dig the heels that much, but the dresses are très fabulous! But I really have my eyes on that zebra coat. Stunning!
That got me thinking...everyone goas mad over greys and khakis (> i.e. Chanel's nail varnish) but a banging Zebra print really spices up those crisp temperatures. So run, run, run, we need some animals in town.

What I wore today

Mum's rings

Another one of Mum's rings. Doesn't it look just like Cindarella's coach?

No head, Mango turtleneck & belt, Miu Miu skirt, Buffalo overknee boots, Comma skirt dangling form mirror

I thought I'd die when it started getting cold here in good old Germany, but I'm starting to enjoy the weather. Not so much the rain, as I'm worried it might ruin my new overknee boots, but I wouldn't even be able to wear them in warmer weather.
And the rosy cheeks you get out in the cold - there is no better way of rougeing them!

It's been a long time

I promise better! Haven't entertained you (whoever you may be or not be) for quite a while. This will change (raises glass)!

Check out a lovely combo for sunny autumn days (and girls who don't mind freezing their skinny legs off).

Paired with a (n unaffordable) Balmain Fall 2010 RTW jacket that should look smashing.

Oh, and by the way. The blogged-to-death Sam Edelman Zoe boots are available via Solestruck. Shop for $199 and shipping is free!

Chanel, Chanel

I'm sorry, this will be a very short post. I'll give you all the news on thursday!

But I found this:

I absolutely love it.

And speaking of Chanel...here one of my favourites:

Sorry about not writing any more....although...I'm probably still talking to myself.
If there is actually someone out there reading this, I cordially invite you to leave a comment :)

band from Venezuela

I went to this amazing event yesterday. It was international in order to improve understanding among nations. There were lots of little booths in which people sold typical food and drinks. At eight-ish this band started playing and everyone was going crazy, the atmosphere was incredible. Even that sweet little granny (a little further down) was dancing. It was fantastic, we had a great time (and great Mojitos).
You all missed out on a really fun evening!

great Tom Ford ad we saw on the way

There is a little gallery that I really like and it happend to be open last night, so we popped in to have a look at the current exibitions. My favourite was definitely the one on Karlsruhe and ripping the whole place up. It looks awful, wherever you look you only see torn up concrete, cranes and men with yellow helmets... It seems as if we are not the only ones being quite upset with this situation..

ironic art on Karlsruhe being one big building sight

The moment we left the gallery, we met Kerstine. She owns a bar close to the gallery and invited us to have a shot. We went for Bora Bora, which is really really nice. It is very fruity which is good for me as the only 'normal' shot I can drink is Sambuca and that is not always a good idea..

Kerstine invited us to her bar for the yummiest shot ever

drunk guys at their bachelor party singing "summer of 69" for us (we had to pay 1€)

Well, I had a fab night, hope yours was fun, too!
